Please Note: All Paradragon team entries are Open Class (no gender requirements). A PD1 classification is deemed as all paddlers onboard are designated Para-paddlers. The PD2 configuration of a boat is half Para-paddlers and half Support paddlers (able-bodied). More information about the Paradragon division can be found here.
The Paradragon racing division on an international level had its start here in this country at the club crew level on the west coast. The Adaptive Fusion team from Long Beach, California entered CCNC in Colorado Springs (PD division) in 2019 against two other para teams. Their gold-medal success earned them a berth to the CCWC in France in 2020 (postponed due to Covid) and in Sarasota, FL in 2022.
At the 2023 IDBF World Championships in Thailand, the Paradragon division made its inaugural divisional debut with several national PD teams competing that included Team-USA PD teams of “Stars” & “Stripes.” In 2025, Team USA – Para competed once again on the world stage in Brandenburg, Germany and this time brought home three (3) bronze medals in the 2K, 200m and 500m races respectively!
The USDBF announced the selections of Judy Lee & Lynda Razo as Head Coaches of Team USA Paradragons for the 2025 cycle.
Judy has raced with such teams as DragonMax, Adaptive Fusion, Team Skittles, and Dragons of North America (DNA)—as well as on Team USA Senior C and Team USA PD. She also currently serves as the USDBF Membership Officer! Judy raced with Team USA PD in 2023 and Adaptive Fusion at CCWC 2024, and looks forward to bringing her energy, technical skills, and personality to the PD division once again.
Lynda founded KP Dragonfit and has raced over the years with AeroDragons, LARD, Blindstart, NAC Outrigger, and many other teams. She served as an Assistant Coach for Team USA PD in 2023, while also drumming and paddling! She currently coaches Adaptive Fusion in Long Beach, CA and strives to guide paddlers toward personal improvement wherever they are in capability by promoting team-building, fitness, and healthy competition.
